Raising a sales order
A sales order captures what a customer wants and drives it through fulfillment. IEMSuite handles both B2B and B2C orders, and each one flows through a clear pipeline from quote to delivered.
Before you start
The customer should exist (Clients), and the products should be in your catalog. See Managing customers & delivery addresses.
Step 1 - Start the order
- Open Orders and create a new order.
- Select the Client (customer) and the order type - B2B or B2C.
Step 2 - Add the items
Under Order Items, add each line:
- Product
- Quantity
- Unit Price
Step 3 - Delivery details
Set the delivery details (address) for the order. For B2B customers you can reuse a saved delivery address.
Step 4 - Save and progress
Save the order. It enters the pipeline you can watch on the Dashboard funnel - Quote → Order Placed → Processing → Production → Packed → QA Review → Shipped → Delivered. When it's ready, prepare a shipment. See Preparing & tracking a shipment.
Tips
- If an order can't be covered by stock, it's flagged Partial or No Stock in *Orders Requiring Attention* - produce or receive stock before shipping.
- Quotes let you capture an order before it's confirmed, then move it forward when the customer commits.
FAQ
What's the difference between B2B and B2C?
B2B is business/wholesale (often with saved delivery addresses and packaging); B2C is direct-to-consumer. You choose the type when creating the order.
Do Shopify orders come in here too?
Yes - connected Shopify orders sync into Orders automatically. See Fulfilling a Shopify order.
