IEMSuite

The margin on each order, not the average of all of them

Averages hide problems. IEMSuite computes cost of goods per order from the exact stock lots that fulfilled it, at the price you actually paid for those lots.

Cost analytics is included on the Scale plan.

How one order's margin is computed(illustrative numbers)

Order #1042 revenue (120 units)$1,440.00
Allocated from LOT-0136 (80 units @ $4.10)-$328.00
Allocated from LOT-0139 (40 units @ $4.65)-$186.00
Gross profit / margin$926.00 · 64.3%

Two lots, two different purchase prices, one order. The COGS reflects exactly which lots FIFO/FEFO picked - and it is frozen at allocation, so this order's margin never changes when you buy the next batch at a different price.

Costs are frozen, not recalculated

Each lot's unit cost is snapshotted at receiving. Allocation copies that cost onto the order permanently. Historical margins stay true even as purchase prices move.

Lot-accurate, not averaged

An order fulfilled from two differently-priced lots shows the blended cost of those exact lots. No weighted-average smearing across your whole catalog.

Batch costing for what you make

A production batch's output lots are costed from the raw-material lots the batch actually consumed, including recorded wastage. What it cost to make is what the lot says.

Common questions

Which lots does an order's COGS come from?+

The ones allocation actually picked: FIFO by default, FEFO automatically when lots carry expiry dates. The cost follows those specific lots.

Do margins change when supplier prices change?+

Past orders never change: their cost was frozen at allocation. New orders pick up the costs of the newer lots they draw from.

Which plan includes cost analytics?+

The full cost analytics module is part of the Scale plan. Lot cost snapshots themselves are recorded on every plan, so your history is ready when you upgrade.
