Find what's stealing capacity
Lost production time is invisible until you measure it. Logging downtime against a line, with a reason, turns vague "we're behind" into a clear picture of where hours go - so you can fix the biggest cause first.
Step 1 - Open downtime
Go to Inventory → Production → Downtime.
Step 2 - Log an event
Record a downtime event against the relevant production line and choose a reason. Built-in reasons include:
- Equipment Failure
- Material Shortage
- Changeover
- Packaging Material Issues
- QA/QC Inspections
- Tablet Line Issues
Step 3 - Review the pattern
Filter downtime by line to see which reasons dominate. Recurring Equipment Failure points to maintenance; frequent Material Shortage points to reorder thresholds; heavy Changeover points to scheduling.
Tips
- Log downtime as it happens, per shift - reconstructing it later loses accuracy.
- Pair downtime with wastage to find the true cost of a struggling line.

Does downtime affect my stock?
No - downtime is an operational record about time, not a stock movement. It doesn't change inventory.
Can I add my own reasons?
Use the closest built-in reason (including Changeover and the line-specific options) so downtime stays consistently categorized and comparable.
