Turning materials into finished goods
A production batch is how you make stock. Pick a recipe, set how much you're making, and IEMSuite consumes the raw materials and records the finished output as a new, tracked lot.
Before you start
You need a recipe / BOM for the finished good, and enough raw materials on hand (check the Low Stock flags first).
Step 1 - Start the batch
- Open Inventory → Production.
- Start a new batch.
- Select the recipe - the ingredients auto-fill from it.
Step 2 - Set quantity and details
- Target quantity - how many units you're producing (e.g. 120).
- Batch number - leave blank to auto-generate, or set your own.
- Add batch notes if useful.
Step 3 - Run it
As the batch runs, IEMSuite:
- Consumes the raw materials from stock (logged as Consume movements, chosen by FIFO/FEFO),
- Records wastage where it occurs, and
- Produces the finished good as a new lot (logged as a Produce movement).
The finished lot is now on hand and ready to sell or ship.
Tips
- If a required material is short, receive or produce it first - the batch needs stock to consume.
- New finished lots can be routed through QC before they're released for sale.
