IEMSuite
Getting started5 min read

Connecting your Shopify store

Install the IEMSuite Shopify app, authorize the connection, and start syncing orders and inventory both ways.

What connecting Shopify gives you

Once connected, your Shopify orders sync into IEMSuite automatically and your stock levels sync out to Shopify in real time - so you fulfill from one place and stop overselling.

Before you start

  • You need a Shopify store and permission to install apps on it.
  • Have your product catalog set up in IEMSuite so incoming orders map to real products.

Step 1 - Install the app

Install the IEMSuite app for Shopify and open it from your Shopify admin. IEMSuite runs as an embedded app inside Shopify.

Step 2 - Authorize the connection

Approve the requested permissions. IEMSuite securely stores an offline access token for your store so it can update inventory and read orders even when no one is signed in. The connection is verified cryptographically on every request.

Step 3 - Confirm sync is live

Place a test order (or check a recent one) and confirm it appears in Orders in IEMSuite, and that adjusting stock in IEMSuite updates the matching Shopify product.

Tips

  • Keep SKUs consistent between Shopify and IEMSuite - that's how products are matched.
  • You can revoke the Shopify connection from your Shopify admin at any time with no impact on your store's data.

FAQ

Which direction does inventory move?

Both. IEMSuite is the source of truth for stock and pushes levels to Shopify; Shopify pushes order events back to IEMSuite. See How Shopify inventory sync works.

What happens to an order after it syncs in?

You allocate stock and ship it in IEMSuite, and fulfillment flows back to Shopify. See Fulfilling a Shopify order.
