QC Overview
Learn how IEMSuite's Quality Control module works - when inspections are triggered, how lots are quarantined, and how QC integrates with inbound and production workflows.
IEMSuite's Quality Control module ensures every lot of incoming stock and manufactured output meets your standards before entering available inventory. QC inspections block lots from fulfillment until they pass review.
What Is QC in IEMSuite?
The QC module provides:
Inspection Jobs
Structured checklists created automatically when a lot enters the system.
Inspector Workflow
Assign inspections to team members with the QC Inspector role.
Pass / Fail Decision
Inspectors record results and approve or reject lots.
NCR Reports
Non-Conformance Reports for lots that fail, tracking root cause and resolution.
When QC Is Triggered
QC inspection jobs are created automatically in two scenarios:

QC Outcomes
Each inspection job ends in one of three outcomes:
PASSED
Lot moves to AVAILABLE. Stock is counted in on-hand inventory and can be fulfilled.
FAILED
Lot moves to QUARANTINE. An NCR is automatically created. The lot cannot be fulfilled until the NCR is resolved.
CONDITIONAL PASS
Lot moves to AVAILABLE with a quality flag attached. The flag is visible in the shipment lot selection screen.
QC and Inventory
While a lot is in PENDING_QC status:
- It is not included in available-to-promise calculations
- It cannot be selected in order shipments or production consumption
- It counts toward "on-hand" total but is shown separately as "In QC"
Enabling QC for Products
QC is enabled per product. To enable it:
Go to Inventory → Products
Find the product you want to enable QC for.
Click Edit on the product
Opens the product edit form.
Toggle "Requires QC" to ON
This flag tells the system to create a QC inspection job every time a new lot is received or produced for this product.
Save
The setting takes effect immediately for future inbound logs and production batches.
