QC Inspections & Approvals
Run quality control inspections in IEMSuite - assign inspectors, fill out checklists, record test results, and approve or reject lots.
A QC Inspection Job is the structured record of a quality review. Inspectors fill out a checklist, record measurements, and make a pass/fail decision - all tracked with timestamps and user attribution.
QC Dashboard Tabs
The Quality Control dashboard (Inventory → Quality Control) has four tabs:

| Inspections | All lots currently in PENDING_QC - shows lot number, product, received date, and assigned inspector. Open an inspection to fill out the checklist and record the decision. |
| NCRs | All open Non-Conformance Reports. Create a new NCR manually or open an existing one to add corrective actions and drive resolution. |
| Quarantine | All lots currently in QUARANTINE status (failed QC or manually quarantined). Take action: release to stock after re-inspection, or scrap after NCR resolution. |
| Test Parameters | Define test parameters (pH, moisture, weight, etc.) per product. These parameters appear on every inspection form for that product. |
Inspection Job Overview
Each inspection job links to:
- The lot being inspected
- The test parameters defined for this product (in the Test Parameters tab)
- The assigned inspector
- A due date (auto-set to 24 hours after lot creation, configurable)
- The final decision (pending / passed / failed / conditional)
Assigning an Inspection
Inspection jobs appear in the Inventory → Quality Control → Inspections tab. A QC Manager can assign them to specific inspectors. Inspectors can also self-assign from the queue. Each inspector receives an in-app notification when a job is assigned.
Filling Out the Checklist
Open the inspection job
From the pending queue or the lot detail page.
Complete each checklist item
Check boxes for visual/physical checks. Items marked Critical must all pass for an overall pass.
Record test parameters
Enter numeric values for lab tests (pH, moisture, weight, etc.). Each parameter has min/max tolerance values.
Add photos (optional)
Attach photos of the inspected goods for documentation.
Write inspection notes
Free-text field for observations, deviations from standard, or recommendations.
Submit decision
Choose PASS, CONDITIONAL PASS, or FAIL.
Test Parameters Tab
Use the Test Parameters tab on the QC Dashboard to define numeric test parameters per product. Once defined, these parameters appear on every inspection form for that product - the inspector fills in the measured value and the system highlights any value outside the min/max tolerance in red.
For example, a food product might require:

If a recorded value falls outside tolerance, the parameter is highlighted in red. The system does not automatically fail the lot - the inspector makes the final decision, which allows for judgment calls on borderline results.
Approving a Lot
Clicking Approve (PASS or CONDITIONAL PASS) moves the lot toAVAILABLE status. The lot is now countable in inventory and available for fulfillment and production. A QC Certificate can be printed from the inspection job.
Rejecting a Lot
Clicking Reject (FAIL) moves the lot to QUARANTINE status and automatically creates a Non-Conformance Report (NCR). The lot is blocked from all fulfillment and production until the NCR is resolved.
Escalation
Inspectors can escalate a borderline inspection to a QC Manager for a second opinion. Escalated jobs appear separately in the manager's queue. The manager can override the inspector's preliminary decision.
